Iberian Ham Club
The most exclusive Iberian ham club in Spain will soon become a reality at El Txoco thanks to Florencio Sanchidrián. A club for a maximum of 50 members where they will learn as well as enjoy ham tastings and various samplings; the first of its kind in the whole country, available to our clients.
And with the privilege of being commanded by the world ambassador of Iberian ham, appointed by the International Academy of Gastronomy, and considered the best ham cutter worldwide. Florencio Sanchidrián (El Fresno, Ávila, 19th February 1962) has also been awarded the Gold Cross of Gastronomic Merit, is director of non-perishable goods for the Repsol Guide, and president of the Iberian ham cutters for the Spanish Professional Culinary Team. He has cut Iberian ham at the wedding banquet of the Prince and Princess of Asturias in 2004 and in many consecutive editions of Formula 1 races. Some of the personalities for whom he has prepared and served pieces of ham are Barack Obama, Spain’s former king Juan Carlos I, Rafa Nadal, Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Benedict XVI, Pope Francis, Silvio Berlusconi, Tony Blair, George Bush, or Richard Gere, to name a few.
His work defending the Spanish gastronomic culture and promoting Iberian ham all over the world has led him to obtain great national and international cultural recognition awards in the fields of Literature and Sport.
